Alivia Cram graduated magna cum laude from Dean College with her Bachelor of Arts in Dance. She spent the summer of 2010 in New York City studying with the Alvin Ailey Summer Intensive and also works on the board for the Boston-based company, JANBE (www.janbe.org), which focuses on the preservation of culture through the language of dance in Haiti. In 2009, Alivia spent 3 months volunteering in Berseba, Namibia, where she taught English, Creative Movement, Arts & Culture and computer classes to both students and teachers. In college, Alivia was asked to speak on her experiences in Africa as it applied to Dance History and Creative movement as part of the introduction of her Senior Performance. She has also worked with the Eclipse Modern Dance Company in Western Massachusetts. Teaching is among her many passions and she is thankful she is lucky enough to spend her days doing what she loves!
