Lauren Knightly is originally from Franklin Lakes, NJ where she began her training with Rose Ivory-Yamout and Lisa Danias. Lauren continued her studies on scholarship at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas where she graduated with a BFA in Dance Performance and a BA in French. While at SMU, she studied with Leslie Peck, Myra Woodruff, Shelley Berg, and Karen Kriete.
Lauren has performed in works by Twyla Tharp, George Balanchine, Viktor Plotnikov, Joost Antoine Vrouenraets, and Martha Graham, including Graham’s iconic solo Lamentation. She is in her second season as a dancer with Festival Ballet Providence.
Lauren is excited to join the faculty of New Bedford Ballet and share her knowledge and passion for ballet with others.
