James Brown

Mr. Brown, formerly a soloist with Festival Ballet of Rhode Island, has also performed with Anna Myer and Dancers of Boston, Island Moving Company, Cadence Dance Project, Ballet Theatre of Boston and the Granite State Ballet. He is a graduate of Purdue University and was elected most improved dancer while attending Butler University.

Mr. Brown has taught at the Festival Ballet Dance Center, the School of the Granite State Ballet and numerous schools throughout Indiana. James has also taught and been in charge of dance programs for inner city and at risk children in Indianapolis and Providence.

In 1997 James was the Guest Artist for New Bedford Ballet's Beauty and the Beast and has returned every year since, not only as the Guest Artist, but also as the Performance Coach. In September of 2000 Mr. Brown joined the faculty of the New Bedford Ballet, and since the Spring of 2002, James has been the Director and Choreographer of his own contemporary dance company, Modern Populous.
